Brunswick- Charles L. Hewett, age 63 of Maquoit Road passed away Sunday, October 24 at his residence. He was born July 21, 1947 the son of Charles Carrie and Mary King Hewett in St Augustine FL.
Charles was raised in the Jacksonville area, enlisted in the U.S. Navy at an early age and later became an Army Reservist serving as an instructor. He married Marcia Bruce on February 25, 1967 and they settled in Brunswick. They raised a family in Brunswick and Charles worked at Bath Iron Works as a welder.
Charles enjoyed camping, fishing, playing bingo, cooking, barbequing, and watching the history channel. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Brunswick American Legion and served as a Chaplain.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marcia of Brunswick, two daughters Lisa Richardson and her husband Bryant of Brunswick, Tracy Hillman of Harpswell, 3 grandchildren Brianne and Jamie Lee Richardson and Ryan Hillman, brother Howard Hewett of Bowdoinham, and two sisters Charlene Hewett and Kathy Hewett both of Jacksonville, Fl.
Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8PM on Thursday, October 28 at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. Burial with full military honors will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Brunswick in the spring.
