Norman M. Smith Obituary (1934 - 2010)

Brunswick-Norman M. Smith, age 75, of Morse Court died Tuesday, June 8 at Mid Coast Senior Health Center in Brunswick. He was born in Boston, MA on August 24, 1934 the son of Frank and Esther Gorshel Smith. He attended Boston schools. Norman moved to Maine to work at Smith Cleaners, the family business in Bath. In March of 1959 he married Judith Mac Phee. They were married for 25 years and had two sons. In 1952 he enlisted in the Air Force. He attended a culinary school in Germany, which lead to his passion for cooking. For the past 23 years he has worked summers as a chef at Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay. He was proud that he never missed a day's work. He is survived by his sons Norman Jr. and Richard, three grandchildren Monique, Martin and Cameron and his brother, Lawrence Smith. There will be a private service for family this fall in Boothbay.
